As a member of the Amazon One Medical Senior Health Revenue Cycle team, the Medical Coder I supports Clinical and Revenue Cycle teams by reviewing coding accuracy of claims. This role reports to the Manager I, Revenue Cycle.
Responsibilities include managing multiple coding projects ensuring deliverables meet One Medical standards in a timely manner, staying current on CPT, ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, AHA Coding Clinic Guidance, and CMS Risk Adjustment guidance, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other codes to office visits, procedures, and diagnoses in a production environment, timely review and completion of email requests, and collaborating with the Medicare Risk Operations team to ensure positive program outcomes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of professional medical coding experience
- CPC certification through AAPC or CCS certification through AHIMA
- Experience in accurate and complete chart reviews for professional coding
- Experience in professional auditing, coding, and documentation requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health systems operations, reimbursement methodologies, and coding conventions
- Ability to perform accurate and complete chart reviews for professional and HCC Risk Adjustment coding
