As an Outpatient Risk Adjustment Coder reporting to the Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager, you will perform patient chart reviews to ensure diagnostic coding accuracy and completeness based on CMS HCC standards. Responsibilities include reviewing patient charts timely and accurately using various technical platforms, validating diagnosis codes with necessary MEAT documentation, ensuring coding compliance with regulatory guidelines, conducting audits to meet ACA standards, creating post-visit queries, collaborating with CDI team members, and contributing to provider education and pre-encounter reviews.
Applicants must collaborate well in team settings, communicate effectively, and think critically. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), at least three years of professional outpatient Risk Adjustment (HCC) coding experience (population health, VBC/ACO, and outpatient coding preferred), and obtaining certifications such as CPC, CPC-H, CPC-I, CPC-A, CCSP, CCS, or Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) within six months of hire.
This is a remote position allowing caregivers to work remotely from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Florida, or Texas. Employees from other states must relocate within 60 days of hire.
