The role is full-time, day shift, with remote work option.
Responsibilities include consistently meeting productivity benchmarks, adhering to coding policies, official coding guidelines, Coding Clinic recommendations, and applicable government regulations. Efficiently manage time and workload to meet productivity and accuracy standards, complete coding assignments across multiple facilities within deadlines, and collaborate with the Coding team to ensure coding is completed within two days of patient discharge.
Knowledge and skills required:
- Basic coding knowledge
- Knowledge of specific coding and Coding Clinic guidelines
- Ability to score at least 75% on coding test during interview
- Strong computer skills with ability to learn Cerner, Epic, and 3M Encoder
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to review medical record documentation and enter data into coding software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent (required)
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient coding experience, preferably including emergency room and other outpatient settings
