Medical Coding Educator

The Coding Educator 2 role involves identifying opportunities to improve provider documentation and creating tailored education plans for assigned providers. Reporting to the Manager of Medicare Risk Adjustment, responsibilities include arranging educational sessions to enhance care quality and documentation accuracy, identifying educational needs from reports, preparing reports and presentations on coding quality and risk areas using data visualization, providing onsite education as needed, collaborating with other provider-facing roles, utilizing data analytics tools to assess coding quality and compliance, analyzing coding audits to develop educational materials, and participating in cross-functional teams to improve documentation and workflow.

The position requires travel up to 5% to provider offices but is primarily remote.

Scheduled work hours are 40 per week.

The position offers base pay ranging from $59,300 to $80,900 per year, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • AHIMA or AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification
  • Minimum 3 years of medical coding education or auditing experience in healthcare settings
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, and experience interpreting large datasets
  • Experience with public speaking, webinars, and presentations aimed at healthcare providers and leadership
  • Medicare Risk Adjustment knowledge
  • Familiarity with coding guidelines
  • Residence in NC, SC, GA, VA, MD, TN, or FL

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC)
  • Experience working directly with healthcare providers
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
