Inpatient Coder

ECLARO is recruiting for an Inpatient Coder in Chicago, IL for a client who is a leading provider of healthcare workforce software and solutions.

Position Overview:

• HIM Inpatient Coder with strong academic, trauma, and/or research university coding experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assign ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts with accuracy.
• Abstract selected data items and enter in 3M encoder / Epic software accurately.
• Complete UHDDS data abstraction as required.
• Maintain a log of work performed.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

Skills:

• RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of inpatient medical record coding experience.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology.
• Proficient with Windows applications, Outlook, Webex, and other necessary apps.
• Ability to focus in open or distracting environments, preferably with a private work-from-home space.
• Ability to apply local, state, and federal coding guidelines accurately.

Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (08:00 - 17:00). Duration: 26 weeks.

Pay Rate: $44.70 per hour.
