Our OBGYN practice is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Coder (CPC) to join our billing team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality customer service with efficiency and compassion, demonstrating a growth mindset.
The Medical Coder will accurately assign diagnosis, procedure, and modifier codes for obstetrics and gynecology services to ensure compliant billing and optimal reimbursement. This role requires in-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, with a preference for OBGYN-specific expertise.
The position involves collaborating with providers, billing, and clinical teams to resolve documentation issues, reduce claim denials, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
- Knowledge of billing procedures for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Understanding of financial billing requirements
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Familiarity with organization structure and workflow in a high-volume medical billing environment
- Knowledge of federal, state, and payer medical billing compliance regulations
- Experience with mainframe-based medical billing and editing systems
- Keyboarding skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism, customer focus, and team-building skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
