This remote position (for Washington State only) involves collecting accurate ICD-10 diagnosis, HCPCS, and CPT procedural codes from outpatient hospital cases including clinics, emergency department, surgery, observation, infusion, imaging, and professional billing. Supports revenue integrity by reviewing posted charges for accuracy and resolving coding validation and claim edits per regulatory processes. Reviews coding edits and assigns modifiers based on billing regulations.
Associate degree or two years of college coursework in Health Information Management or equivalent work experience (2 years professional or outpatient facility coding) OR Seattle Children’s Apprentice Hospital Coder for no less than 12 months.
Required certifications:
- AHIMA: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P
- AAPC: CPC, COC, CRC, CPMA
Preferred experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
