ChristianaCare, a top-ranked hospital system in the Mid-Atlantic Region, is seeking a Part Time Inpatient Medical Coder to assign ICD-10 CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes accurately and timely across inpatient, outpatient, emergency medicine, ancillary, and diagnostic records to support billing and statistical reporting.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting various patient records, coding according to official guidelines, abstracting data for reimbursement and statistics, supporting billing workflows, utilizing coding systems for communication and queries, and ensuring accuracy of demographic data.
The schedule is very flexible and the role is 100% remote with support including coding books, continuing education credits, and professional memberships.
Education and experience required: college diploma in medical coding or one year coding experience in healthcare; associate or bachelor's degree in health information technology preferred; strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and official coding guidelines.

Hourly pay range: $23.85 - $35.78, with final salary based on skills and experience.
