- Associates degree in Health Information Management or equivalent post-secondary education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years recent acute care hospital inpatient or outpatient infusion coding experience.
- Required proficiency with 3M encoder software and electronic abstracting systems preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, diagnosis, and procedural terms to assign ICD codes.
- Certification required: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA, or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by AAPC.
