They are seeking experienced, credentialed inpatient medical coders with high attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology. This fully remote position offers flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities include assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnostic and procedural codes, sequencing and abstracting medical codes accurately, auditing Level 1 & 2 Coders, facilitating documentation improvements, maintaining 95% accuracy rates in coding and MS-DRG assignments, meeting productivity benchmarks, and communicating professionally with healthcare staff regarding clinical and reimbursement matters.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years recent inpatient coding experience and prefer credentials such as CCS, RHIT, or RHIA. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Additional preferred qualifications include an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program or certification from AHIMA/AAPC, experience in a Level I Trauma Center (preferably academic medical center), experience handling coding quality reviews, and proficiency with computerized encoding and abstracting software.
