Outpatient Coder III - HF Coding and Documentation

This role involves providing accurate data collection for quality clinical analysis and revenue enhancement through coding outpatient records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include assigning and validating ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes, ensuring accuracy of computer-assisted coding, interpreting clinical documentation, requesting clarifications from providers, maintaining coding productivity and quality, analyzing medical necessity per regulations, responding to pre-bill edits promptly, communicating coding concerns professionally, staying current with regulatory changes, attending meetings, accurate time recording, supporting departmental schedules, and protecting patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and National Patient Safety Goals.

Minimum qualifications require a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of outpatient coding experience. Preferred qualifications include 5 years outpatient coding experience and certification by AHIMA or AAPC.

The position is primarily remote for residents of Florida, full-time with variable shifts, and requires proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, strong communication and critical thinking skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail.
