IKS Health is seeking to hire an experienced Inpatient Facility Medical Coder.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures related to patient encounters, selecting principal diagnoses and procedures per UHDDS definitions, ensuring correct DRG assignment, and abstracting relevant information per client guidelines. The coder will use Aquity applications to enter charts coded in real-time, solicit clarifications from physicians as needed, participate in team meetings, training, and coding roundtables, and keep coding credentials up to date.
The position requires maintaining current knowledge of Coding Clinic resources, CPT guidelines, and Official Coding Guidelines, along with effective professional communication skills.
- Must hold coding credentials: CCS, RHIA, or RHIT.
- Minimum of 3 years recent inpatient (IP) coding experience.
- Minimum of 3 years acute care experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes.
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles, reimbursement systems, and compliance with federal, state, and payor-specific regulations.
- Must pass inpatient coding proficiency test.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Google Suite.
