As a Profee Coder with Parallon at HCA Healthcare, you will review and code clinical notes and operative reports for at least one specialty. You will provide feedback and documentation advice to physicians, practice management, and other coders. Collaborate with the denials team to resolve coding-related denials and promote Central Coding in the Coding Physician Service Center, focusing on exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and coding clinical notes and operative reports for assigned specialties
- Coordinating and reconciling schedules to ensure complete charge capture
- Timely charge entry of codes into the billing system
- Working with the Accounts Receivable team to resolve coding-related denials and rejections, recommending new or updated coding edits
- Staying current with coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of two years professional fee coding and/or reimbursement experience (relevant education may substitute)
- Preferred knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC required; work experience may be accepted in lieu of credential
