Key responsibilities include reviewing outpatient and/or inpatient records for accuracy, assigning ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes according to standards, collaborating with medical staff to resolve coding questions, and accurately entering coding data into hospital information systems.
Candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant outpatient ICD-10 and CPT coding experience or be recent graduates of a coding/billing program willing to be trained. Knowledge of E/M levels, injections, infusions, and outpatient surgery coding is a plus. CCA or CCS credentials are preferred but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary. The role requires on-site work for at least the first six months with potential for occasional remote work based on skill level.
