As a Senior Coder, you will be a key resource for the coding team, offering guidance, coaching, and mentoring. Responsibilities include reviewing patient records, assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments, collaborating with healthcare providers for complete documentation, maintaining knowledge of coding standards and regulatory requirements, updating code sets, auditing coding accuracy and compliance, resolving coding-related rejections or denials, and supporting daily coding operations.
Required qualifications include advanced knowledge of coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, CMS/payer documentation requirements, excellent attention to detail, computer literacy with EMR navigation, ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, and certification such as CPC, CCS, or RHIT. A minimum of four years of medical coding experience is required.
The position prefers experience with GE Centricity/Athena EMR, requires travel 5-10% to West Bloomfield, MI, and at least one year of remote work experience. Candidates must reside in one of the operating states: NY, NJ, MI, PA, CT, TX, AZ, IL, or GA.

- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare CMS/payer documentation requirements
