Profee Coder, General Surgery

Position Summary:

The Pro Fee Coder in General Surgery is responsible for maintaining current and high-quality ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and/or CPT coding for inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedural occurrences by reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results. The coder must maintain a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or better.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately abstract data into all appropriate health electronic medical record systems.
  • Verify accurate patient dispositions and physician data.
  • Follow Official ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and AMA CPT Guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred specialty certification in General Surgery through AAPC (COBGC).
  • Must be proficient with EMR/Coding using EPIC.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • Availability to work full-time.

Position Details:

  • Temporary to permanent assignment.
  • Length of assignment: 12 Weeks.
  • Full-time position (40 hours per week).
  • Start Date: 05/18/2026.
