The Medical Coder III is a senior-level position responsible for accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Position Highlights:

Hybrid work model: Warrenville, IL and remote
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Work hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Responsibilities:

Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnostic and CPT procedural codes, including complex scenarios
Lead audits of medical records and coding work, ensuring accuracy and providing guidance to junior coders
Analyze clinical documentation and collaborate with physicians and clinical staff for clarification and documentation improvement
Stay current with coding guidelines and regulatory changes; share knowledge with the team
Collaborate to resolve coding questions and discrepancies
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and HIPAA standards
Generate advanced coding reports and insights for improvement
Mentor and train junior coders
Use coding software and electronic health record systems proficiently, contributing to process improvements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required
Certification such as CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT required
5+ years of coding experience, with expertise in ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, including complex scenarios
