The Inpatient Coder role involves accurately abstracting data into electronic medical records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines, UHDDS, and CMS directives. Key duties include assigning codes to inpatient accounts, entering coded data for reporting, assigning Present on Admission indicators, querying physicians for clarification, communicating documentation and coding issues, and maintaining quality and productivity standards.
This role requires maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or better and interacting with Clinical Documentation staff as needed.

This is a remote, home office position.
Candidates must have AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials, at least 3 years inpatient acute care coding experience, ideally 5+ years or trauma level 1/academic teaching experience, and proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
