This role is for experienced and credentialed inpatient coders to work fully remote with a flexible schedule. Duties include assigning diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, sequencing and abstracting medical codes, auditing Level 1 and 2 coders, improving documentation, maintaining high accuracy (95% coding and MS-DRG), and maintaining productivity benchmarks. Communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff is a key aspect.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of recent inpatient facility coding experience and preferably hold CCS, RHIT, or RHIA credentials. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Preferred qualifications include an associate or bachelor degree from AHIMA-certified programs, inpatient coding experience at a Level I Trauma Center especially in academic medical facilities, experience with coding quality reviews, and familiarity with computerized encoding and abstracting software.

Pay range is approximately $32 to $42 per hour, equating to an annual full-time equivalent salary range of about $66,560 to $87,360. The role is part-time (PRN) and fully remote.
