The Pool Medical Records Coder role requires working at the Milwaukee business office with the option to work from home after orientation. This position includes a weekend work requirement of at least one to two weekends per month.

As a Medical Records Coder, you will assign and sequence ICD-10-CM codes accurately and efficiently, abstract important information from patient records for all home care and hospice admissions, including new and post-hospital referrals. You will serve as a coding resource, ensuring optimal reimbursement and compliance with CMS policies and Official Coding Guidelines.

The role demands strong organizational skills, adherence to deadlines, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians, clinicians, and staff across departments.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Ability to assign and sequence ICD-10-CM codes accurately
  • Proficient in abstracting pertinent patient record information
  • Knowledge of CMS policies and Official Coding Guidelines
  • Strong professionalism and accuracy when interacting with healthcare providers
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
