Covenant Medical Group, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Coder Analyst Specialist focused on Clinical Document Integrity for a full-time day shift position.
Responsibilities include reviewing medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, verifying data for charge entry, assisting providers and coders with coding questions, editing claim transmission reports for accuracy, performing quality coding and audits, contacting physicians for clarification, ensuring accurate documentation and coding, collaborating with management and billing departments, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications include a minimum of three years extensive diagnosis and procedural coding experience and maintaining a CPC coding certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders or RHIT registration. Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED is expected, with professional coding experience preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of extensive diagnosis and procedural coding experience.
- Must have and maintain a CPC coding certification (American Academy of Professional Coders) or be registered as a Health Information Technician (RHIT) through the American Health Information Management Association.
- Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED; any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to perform essential tasks.
- Ability to review and abstract data accurately for coding and billing compliance.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with providers, office manager, CDI supervisor, and manager.
- Ability to meet or exceed coding quality and quantity standards.
