Specialty Coder

Vancouver Clinic

Vancouver Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented Specialty Coder to ensure accurate and timely charge processing.

In this role, you will support clinical staff with coding procedures, review operative notes, and assign appropriate CPT, diagnosis, and modifier codes in alignment with AMA-CPT, ICD-10, and National Correct Coding Initiative standards. The ideal candidate will be a coding resource, provide education to clinicians and staff, and support ongoing process improvements.

After successful full-time, on-site training at The VIC office location, there is potential for off-site work. Off-site work requires residing in the local Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR area and having a secure home network with minimum upload (5 mbps) and download speeds (25 mbps).

Additional information: Vancouver Clinic provides care across a wide range of medical decisions including vaccinations, reproductive health, end-of-life decision-making, and gender affirming treatment. Ability to work with a diverse population, with or without reasonable accommodation, is essential.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active and maintained coding credential from AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P, or RHIT) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or relevant specialty credential) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience
  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Typing speed minimum of 40 words per minute
