Acute Coding Quality Review Auditor

The Acute Coding Quality Review Auditor performs quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with DRG validation, ICD-10/PCS, and CPT coding guidelines. You will coordinate with department leadership to ensure standards are met per organization policy, contribute to improving departmental processes and infrastructure, and act as a subject matter expert on national coding guidelines for hospital inpatient and/or outpatient coding.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled quality audits (routine, pre-bill, targeted, post-bill), facilitating the coder audit appeal process, preparing detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations, assisting coding staff with questions, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines, and identifying educational opportunities.

Applicants must have a High School Education/GED (required), preferably an Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent experience, five years of acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience, and preferably three years' coding auditing experience. Certified Coding Specialist credential through AHIMA (CCS) is required.
