Yeo & Yeo Medical Billing & Consulting, established in 1998, provides medical billing and practice management solutions to help clients maximize reimbursement and stay current with Medicare, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding rules.

This role involves reviewing medical records, verifying coding accuracy, and summarizing findings. The consultant assists with educating clients and staff on coding and billing quality, acts as a resource for billing staff, and performs coding audits including chart audits, billing reviews, workflow analysis, and on-site billing.

The position requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding and documentation requirements, presenting changes to CPT and ICD-10 coding, educating providers and staff to ensure regulatory compliance, and conducting internal audits. Additionally, the role entails lead generation for consulting services, traveling within state to client locations, and testifying on audits that go to litigation.

Strong communication and customer service skills are emphasized for efficient office operations and client assistance.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Familiarity with HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer systems.
  • Skilled in using computer systems and software; 10-key calculator proficiency.
  • Effective communication skills for insurance payer interactions.
  • Customer service skills dealing with diverse patient populations.
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills to handle discrepancies, denials, appeals, and collections.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Preferred: Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification.
  • Willingness to pursue continuous learning and adapt to changing priorities.
