At Savista, you will help healthcare clients improve revenue cycle outcomes by reviewing and submitting about 64 patient encounters daily, focusing on evaluation & management, procedures, testing, monitoring, and hospital services. The role demands collaboration with providers on coding matters and updating pending encounter statuses. It involves specialized coding in Cardiology, including non-invasive procedures, remote monitoring, pacer monitoring, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology billing.
Key duties include accurate charge extraction, diagnosis application, modifier assignment, understanding NCCI edits and regulations, maintaining coding knowledge related to CPT and ICD-10 codes, reviewing codes for accuracy, collaborating with coding managers on discrepancies, working independently, participating in meetings and trainings, maintaining credentials, and assisting with insurance denials and accounts receivable coordination.
- Minimum 3-5 years professional coding experience in Cardiology.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
- Active certification from AAPC (COC, CPC) or AHIMA (CCS) at time of hire.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of EPIC, Cerner, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to teach facility guidelines.
- Experience in an active coding production environment preferred.
- Maintain at least 95% coding accuracy and meet productivity standards.
- Capability to discuss coding findings and guidelines with providers effectively.
