Join a Premier Level 1 Trauma Team supporting a respected Level 1 Trauma Facility with high-acuity cases across multiple specialties including Cardiac/Heart Center, NICU, Cancer Services, and Spinal Surgery.
Responsibilities include coding complex Level 1 Trauma accounts, conducting DRG reviews post-discharge, creating and posting physician queries, partnering with CDI teams on DRG mismatches, using clinical judgment to support accurate diagnoses and reduce denials, collaborating with physicians and PAs to ensure documentation supports coding accuracy, and meeting productivity and quality expectations in a fast-paced environment.
This position is 100% remote, full-time (40 hours weekly), with a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexible start times available.

- Recent Level 1 Trauma coding experience
- Acute care hospital coding background
- Strong cardiac coding experience (required)
- Experience creating physician queries
- CDI collaboration experience
- Clinical validation knowledge
- Ability to handle audits and constructive feedback positively
- Independent worker with ability to start with minimal training
Required Certifications (one of the following):
- RHIA
- RHIT
- CCS
Systems Experience Preferred:
- EPIC
