To accurately code and process medical records for Inpatient/SDC patients in a timely basis.
High school diploma or equivalent required. CCS certification required.
One to two years hospital coding experience required with knowledge of data quality measures, DRGs, Prospective Payment Systems, and APCs. 3M Encoder experience preferred.
Medical terminology knowledge required. Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and cooperatively within a team environment. Effective communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact with customers to meet their needs. Able to handle interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and schedule. Strong prioritization and decision-making skills.
