Responsible for scheduling surgical cases and liaising with multiple referring doctors' offices. Integral member of the Front Desk Team. Under supervision, assembles and maintains complete medical records according to established procedures, including filing, retrieving, preparing new files, organizing, evaluating, and reviewing patient records for accuracy and completeness.
Tasks include counseling patients, scheduling surgeries, coordinating with primary care physicians to ensure completion of history and physicals before surgery, completing necessary paperwork for each scheduled procedure, multi-tasking, and providing front office backup support.
Requires knowledge of clinic policies, medical terminology, scheduling software, and intermediate computer skills. Skills include claim information gathering and reporting, utilization problem-solving, written and verbal communication, customer relations, and fast, accurate data entry. Must have service-oriented, patient demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively.
Physical demands: Sitting and standing in an office environment. Work environment: Busy office with extensive telephone work.

- High school diploma
