Provider File Specialist I

Responsible for establishing and maintaining certification and/or preparation, review and/or maintenance of healthcare provider files in support of provider directories, accurate and timely claims adjudication, and provider billing.

You will verify necessary information and/or establish certification of healthcare service providers, maintain provider data in the provider information management system (PIMS) or appropriate database, identify and assign providers to appropriate networks and systems, work on system maintenance and error reports, and participate in special projects such as mass rate updates, quality improvement, and audits.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, onsite at 200 North Dozier Boulevard, Florence, SC. Overtime may occasionally be required and travel between buildings might be necessary.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year of administrative/clerical support, customer service, claims processing, and/or provider network/certification experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn PIMS and SQL for query purposes; strong communication, organizational, and judgment skills; basic business math proficiency; and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Basic business math proficiency
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly

Preferred:

  • Ability to learn DB2, SQL to create/run PIMS queries for quality control and research
