Responsibilities:

Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes for diagnoses and procedures
Ensure all billing information aligns with medical documentation, verifying completeness and accuracy
Submit clean claims electronically using EMR/EHR systems to insurance companies and government agencies
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to maximize reimbursement
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations
Organize and manage medical records efficiently while ensuring confidentiality
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures requiring precise coding

Requirements:

Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting
Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems and DRG classifications
Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems
Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical records management
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Knowledge of insurance policies, reimbursement procedures, and medical collection practices
