We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Coder and Biller to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses, procedures, and services using industry-standard systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD (International Classification of Diseases), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group). You will ensure that all medical records are correctly coded for billing purposes, facilitating seamless reimbursement processes. Responsibilities:

Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, and DRG classifications based on documented diagnoses and procedures.
Ensure all coding aligns with current coding guidelines, medical terminology, and payer requirements.
Prepare accurate and complete medical bills utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Submit claims promptly to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies.
Maintain thorough documentation of coding decisions, billing activities, and correspondence related to patient accounts.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or resolve discrepancies in medical records.
Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, insurance policies, and healthcare compliance standards.

Experience & Qualifications:

Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting, with familiarity using EMR/EHR systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology necessary for accurate coding.
Experience working with ICD-10, CPT coding systems, as well as understanding DRG classifications for hospital billing.
Familiarity with medical records management and maintaining detailed documentation of coding activities.
Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and efficiently.
Prior experience in a medical office environment or healthcare facility is preferred.
Certification in Medical Coding (such as CPC or CCS) is highly desirable.
