We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable medical coder/biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding practices and will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical records. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and optimizing revenue cycle processes.
Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered using ICD-10 and CPT.
Ensure accurate documentation of medical terminology and coding practices in compliance with federal regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and ensure proper documentation for coding accuracy.
Process medical billing and collections efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Utilize EHR systems to manage patient information effectively; ecW experience is a plus.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance.
Assist in the training of new staff on coding procedures and best practices as needed.
Proven experience in medical coding with a strong understanding of ICD coding, CPT coding, medical billing, and collections.
Familiarity with EHR systems is essential for managing patient records effectively.
Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills to ensure accurate coding practices.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Certification in medical coding (such as CPC, CCS, or similar) is required; CPC-A considered.
