The Manager, Coding Education and Quality leads coding quality and education teams for hospital, professional fee, and global coding auditors. They develop policies, provide education to coders and providers, review updated coding rules and regulations, ensure audit completion and compliance, collaborate with operation managers, analyze denial trends, and improve documentation and coding practices. This role serves as a liaison between providers, clinical staff, and coders to optimize reimbursement and accurate billing, analyze billing trends, and ensure quality standards. Additional duties include managing coding software, revising HIM policies, attending management training, and supporting leadership communications.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Allied Health, Education, or Health Information Management
- At least 5 years coding experience
- At least 1 year experience in reporting, team leadership, data analysis, and billing/EMS systems
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPCH)
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- Epic system experience preferred
