Coding Specialist

Infinx is a fast-growing company focused on delivering innovative technology solutions to healthcare providers such as physician groups, hospitals, pharmacies, and dental groups.

This Coding Specialist position works under the direction of the Coding Services Supervisor and Manager, responsible for accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials.

Key responsibilities include assigning and sequencing ICD-10 and CPT codes, contacting clients for incomplete documentation, monitoring regulatory and payer changes, researching and resolving coding errors and denials, identifying trends for client policy improvement, and maintaining up-to-date coding knowledge through continuing education.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, at least 2 years of medical coding experience in OR/procedures, and hold a nationally recognized coding credential (e.g., CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT). Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, ICD-10 codes, medical terminology, and business/revenue cycle operations is required.

Strong communication skills, ability to follow instructions, prioritize workload, multitask independently or in a team, and maintain professionalism are essential.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience in medical coding for OR/procedures
  • Nationally recognized coding credential (CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT)
  • Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of medical business and revenue cycle operations
  • Proficiency in Office Applications (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently
