We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to join our private healthcare organization specializing in ENT (Otolaryngology), Allergy, Audiology, and Physical Therapy services. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate coding, compliant billing practices, timely reimbursement, and excellent patient financial service. The ideal candidate will have strong coding expertise, medical billing knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients regarding account questions.
Key responsibilities include reviewing provider documentation and evaluating accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for ENT, Allergy, Audiology, and Physical Therapy services while ensuring coding compliance with payer policies, CMS guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Candidates will manage accounts receivable and collections, perform monthly collection activities, follow up on claims, and manage patient accounts and refunds. Maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and assisting with audits and revenue cycle improvements are also expected.
Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential through AAPC (or equivalent coding certification).
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding and billing experience in a physician practice or outpatient setting.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and insurance claim processing.
- Proficiency with EHR/PM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical records, and healthcare procedures.
- Familiarity with claim edits, denials management, payment posting workflows, accounts receivable follow-up, collections, and billing for commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers’ compensation.
Preferred:
- Experience in ENT/Otolaryngology and Allergy Coding.
