Baystate Ob/Gyn Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented part-time Certified Professional Coder to join our in-person billing department team.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of CPC experience and comprehensive knowledge of medical coding standards and billing procedures for ob/gyn services, both in-office and hospital settings. This role involves translating clinical documentation into precise CPT and ICD-10 codes to facilitate billing, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance. Your coding expertise supports seamless medical office operations and quality patient care.

Required Certification:

  • Active and ongoing Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.

Duties include:

  • Review and analyze medical documentation to assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
  • Code outpatient and inpatient procedures, diagnoses, and treatments per guidelines.
  • Collaborate with providers and billing staff to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of coding regulations, payer policies, and standards.
  • Use EMR/EHR systems effectively for coding and record management.
  • Assist in billing processes by verifying codes for claims.
  • Conduct medical record audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support training initiatives on coding practice updates and regulations.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage digital files.
  • Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
  • Proficiency with medical billing, record review, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex medical records.
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.

Salary: From $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Work Location: In person in Springfield, MA.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
  • Minimum one year of CPC experience in ob/gyn medical coding.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and medical billing.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical providers and billing teams.
  • Prior medical office experience preferred.
