Baystate Ob/Gyn Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented part-time Certified Professional Coder to join our in-person billing department team.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of CPC experience and comprehensive knowledge of medical coding standards and billing procedures for ob/gyn services, both in-office and hospital settings. This role involves translating clinical documentation into precise CPT and ICD-10 codes to facilitate billing, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance. Your coding expertise supports seamless medical office operations and quality patient care.

Required Certification:

Active and ongoing Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.

Duties include:

Review and analyze medical documentation to assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
Code outpatient and inpatient procedures, diagnoses, and treatments per guidelines.
Collaborate with providers and billing staff to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain current knowledge of coding regulations, payer policies, and standards.
Use EMR/EHR systems effectively for coding and record management.
Assist in billing processes by verifying codes for claims.
Conduct medical record audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support training initiatives on coding practice updates and regulations.

Skills:

Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage digital files.
Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Proficiency with medical billing, record review, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office.
Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex medical records.
Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
