The Coder II researches and analyzes data for reimbursement, identifies documentation deficiencies for provider feedback, and serves as a resource for assigned specialties. This role reviews and verifies documentation supporting diagnosis, procedures, and treatment results, assigns codes for reimbursement, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements using payer guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review physician documentation for accurate coding of office and surgical procedures
- Enter charges timely and accurately
- Run and work daily reports
- Provide coding guidance to physicians
- Research coding requirements for new and existing office services and procedures
Position Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree preferred (may substitute education for one year of coding experience)
- Experience: 2-3 years in healthcare coding required; GI Surgical experience preferred
- Licensure: CPC certification required
- Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook; excellent customer service, organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills; detail-oriented with ability to meet priorities; flexible work hours as needed

Pay Range: $22-$24 per hour
- Minimum 2 years coding experience in a healthcare organization
- Surgical coding experience (1 year) required
- GI coding experience preferred
- CPC certification required
- Skilled in MS Excel, Word, Outlook

- Ability to work flexible hours and remotely
