Medical Coder II

We are seeking a Coder II to join our growing team at Sunshine Billing, a private healthcare support services company.

As a Coder II, you will research and analyze data for reimbursement, identify documentation deficiencies, and provide feedback to providers. You will serve as a subject matter expert for assigned specialties, review physician documentation for accuracy, enter charges, run reports, and provide coding guidance.

Education: High School Diploma/GED required, Associate degree preferred. Education may substitute coding experience.

Experience: 2-3 years in healthcare coding required; Urology coding experience preferred.

Certification: CPC certified required.

Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook; excellent customer service, organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills required.

Flexible work hours and telecommuting options are available.

Compensation includes $20-$22 per hour, health insurance after 60 days, disability income insurance, life insurance, 401K, PTO, sick leave, employee referral program, continuing education reimbursement, and employer-paid AAPC membership.

The position is full-time and remote within Florida, Texas, Arkansas, or Kentucky.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of healthcare coding experience required
  • CPC certification required
  • Skilled in MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Urology coding experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with physicians, coworkers, and management
  • Able to accommodate flexible work hours
  • Location must be Florida, Texas, Arkansas, or Kentucky
