The Surgery Coder at OrthoIndy South is responsible for reviewing surgical medical records documentation, including CPT codes, ICD-10 diagnosis codes, and appropriate modifiers to ensure accuracy supporting billing. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Review medical record documentation for billing accuracy
- Post surgery charges
- Run daily transaction posting reports and balance accounts
- Communicate with physicians when surgery queries are needed
- Inform managers of any compliance issues

Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; specialty training beyond high school preferred
- 1-2 years of related experience required; 2-4 years preferred
- Must hold one of the following certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist Physician-based (CCS-P), or Certified Orthopaedic Surgery Coder (COSC)
