Senior Specialty Physician Coder - Cardiology, CTS, Pediatric Cardiology & IR

As a Senior Specialty Physician Coder, you will review and analyze specialty coding and billing for charge processing focusing on office, hospital, and surgical procedures to ensure accurate and compliant medical coding for inpatient and outpatient services across specialties including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pediatric Cardiology, and Interventional Radiology.

You will collaborate with contract coders, maintain coding operations continuity, and assist with identifying and addressing coding trends and irregularities in adherence to organizational policies.

This position is full-time, primarily remote, based in Fountain Valley, CA, working day shifts (8 hours).

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of medical coding experience in hospital or physician office settings with physician interaction.
  • At least 2 years as a specialty coder in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Interventional Radiology, Oncology/Chemotherapy/Infusion.
  • Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Experience with Epic software and Microsoft Office.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Certification required: CPC, CCS, COC, CCC, CCVTC, CIRCC.
  • Specialty coding certification preferred.
