The Clinic Certified Coder is responsible for coding and abstracting medical records for Professional Services, collaborating with Providers to clarify or improve coding-related areas. The role may also include special projects related to coding, documentation, and chart auditing.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Certifications: Certified Coding Specialist required. Must obtain a coding license within 24 months of hire. Acceptable certifications include Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), or other acceptable coding certification. Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and coding guidelines is needed.
Location: Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Revenue Integrity Department.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
