Join as an experienced Medical Coder responsible for managing high-quality, timely coding of diagnoses and procedures for outpatient accounts using ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS coding systems to meet billing requirements.
Collaborate closely with providers, technicians, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to review and discuss coding analysis.
Responsibilities include performing quality checks on documentation, coding electronic health records accurately, reviewing patient records for accuracy and compliance, abstracting and interpreting data for billing claims, analyzing trends to reduce billing errors, maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality, and assisting billing management with troubleshooting.
Required to have 2 to 3 years of medical coding experience (5 to 7 preferred) and proficiency with athenaNet, Cerner, and All Scripts EHRs is a plus.
Preferred qualifications include CPC certification and an associate's degree in health information systems or business.
This is a hybrid remote position based in Temecula, CA.
- Current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification (Required)
- 2 to 3 years of medical coding experience (Required), 5 to 7 years preferred
- Experience with ICD-10 coding systems
- Preferred experience with athenaNet, Cerner, and All Scripts EHRs
- Associate's degree in health information systems or business preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and judgement abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
