Lifekind Health is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Coder II (CPC or CCS) to join their team. This role focuses on performing moderate to complex coding assignments independently, requiring strong knowledge of coding guidelines and the ability to resolve advanced coding issues.
The position involves coding ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers with high accuracy, reviewing documentation for compliance and completeness, handling claim edits, rejections, and denials requiring coding expertise, and assisting in training and mentoring Medical Coder I staff. Staying updated on coding changes, payer rules, and regulatory requirements is essential.

This is a remote position for candidates located in Texas or Oklahoma, but the company's location is Palm Desert, CA.
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or 5 years of medical coding experience
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification required
- Strong understanding of coding guidelines and payer requirements
- Ability to code independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in resolving coding-related rejections, denials, and edits
