Professional Fee Inpatient Cardiology Coder (E/M & OBS)

Corrohealth is seeking a Coding Specialist to join their team focusing on Professional Fee Inpatient Cardiology coding, including Evaluation & Management (E/M), Observations, and bedside procedures. The role requires independent work from home with strong coding skills applying ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS codes accurately and with high specificity. The coder will also calculate ProFee E/M levels using a proprietary algorithm and identify critical care cases based on patient acuity. Compliance with AHIMA's Ethical Coding Standards and company policies is mandatory.

The position involves participating in ongoing training and maintaining at least one coding credential (AAPC or AHIMA). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required to manage spreadsheets and communication effectively. The coder must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical abilities, and meet productivity and quality standards of 95% or higher. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Certified coder through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience coding Professional Fee Inpatient Cardiology.
  • Experience with E/M, Observations, and bedside procedures coding.
  • Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems.
  • Reliable internet connection, phone, and current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas) and Outlook (email and scheduling).
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and written.
  • Ability to manage time, analyze data, make decisions, and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
  • Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must comply with privacy and security rules regarding Personal Health Information.
