Medical Billing & Coding Specialist

Imagine Pediatrics is a tech-enabled, pediatrician-led medical group focused on care for children with special health care needs. They provide 24/7 virtual-first and in-home medical, behavioral, and social care.

As a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, you will ensure timely and accurate claims submission, compliance, and payment by blending coding precision with billing strategy. Collaborate with providers, data teams, and operations to improve documentation, streamline workflows, and reduce denials.

Key responsibilities include submitting clean claims with accurate codes (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10), managing denials and re-submissions, validating eligibility and authorizations, ensuring correct billing especially for telehealth and preventive care, reviewing and improving provider documentation, educating providers, supporting new documentation tools, maintaining billing rules, tracking claim trends, collaborating across revenue cycle and clinical operations, and supporting training and compliance efforts.

The role is hybrid with expectations for flexibility and adaptability as the company expands into new markets and payer models.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
  • 3–5 years experience in physician billing and coding, preferably pediatrics
  • Proficiency with Athena EMR and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, HEDIS, Medicaid, and commercial payers
  • Experience with telehealth billing, capitation models, and quality measures is a plus
  • Passion for pediatric health care and ability to adapt in a startup environment
