Certified Medical Coder

MD West ONE offers a comprehensive musculoskeletal and nervous system practice specialized in orthopedic, neurosurgery, spine, and pain care.

As a Certified Coder, you will review medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and medical standards.

Primary responsibilities include reviewing medical records and assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, monitoring updated coding guidelines, educating medical providers on proper coding, assisting with billing research and maintenance, and other related duties.

Qualifications required: High school diploma or equivalent, Certified Professional Coder certification, proficiency in medical codes, basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, insurance billing, and computer skills including Microsoft Office and EMR systems. Experience in neurosurgery or orthopedics settings is preferred.

Skills include ability to build relationships, strong communication, professionalism, analytical skills, ability to work independently or in teams, and meet deadlines. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and travel to clinic locations as needed.

Work conditions involve a hybrid environment with some remote work possible, or working in a clean, well-lit medical clinic office. Potential exposure to communicable diseases may occur.
