Coder Specialist III

The Coder III Specialist is responsible for coding ER, Outpatient, Outpatient Surgeries, Observations, and Inpatient records.

Minimum Education required is High School Diploma or GED. Certification required: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA.

Requires a minimum of 3 years related experience and a score of 80% or above on the outpatient and inpatient coding exams.

Demonstrated knowledge of Basic ICD 10 training, anatomy and physiology, and PC/software proficiency is necessary. Must consistently score 80% or above on coding exams.

Key responsibilities include coding ERs, outpatients, outpatient surgeries, observations, and inpatients; working CCI/medical necessity edits as needed; monitoring unbilled cases for all patient types daily; maintaining quality and productivity metrics at or above 95%; and completing required continuing education.

The role requires independent judgment in planning and executing tasks in a complex technical or professional setting.

Interacts with internal and external customers and other healthcare professionals via telephone or face-to-face.

Location: Virtual Office, Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
