Medical Diagnosis Coder

TPIS

Responsible for evaluating Comprehensive Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) forms received from Classicare policyholders and coding the documented clinical information according to established guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coding diagnoses documented in CHRA forms and registering data into the appropriate system.
  • Identifying areas of opportunity to avoid errors and risks related to coding compliance.
  • Conducting post-payment audits of claims based on CHRA information.
  • Generating referrals with providers or billing reps to correct coding or documentation issues.
  • Processing adjustments received for CHRA corrections.
  • Collaborating with Claims and Providers departments for claim processing.
  • Reporting audit results to the supervisor on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college education or an Associate's Degree.
  • One year of medical billing experience with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, or six months clinical billing and coding experience.
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes and ICD-9-CM & ICD-10-CM coding.
  • Medical billing and/or ICD-9/10 certification preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in English and Spanish (writing, reading, comprehension, conversational).

Position Details:

  • Full-time, permanent.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, with some Saturdays during peak times.
  • After 6 months training, possibility to transition to 100% remote.

Compensation:

  • $15.00 per hour plus benefits.
