The Inpatient Coder accurately abstracts information from patient records to code individual inpatient accounts for data submission, analysis, and claims processing. This role requires adherence to ethical coding standards and continual learning through webinars and audit reviews.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of courses in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
- Preferred inpatient coding experience.
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record and 3M 360 Computer Assistant Coding System preferred.
- Minimum one year experience with Windows.
- Experience with ICD-10 CM, CPT-4, and HCPCS code assignments required.
