ASC Strategic is seeking a Workers' Compensation Collections Specialist to join the Accounts Receivable Team. The role involves handling insurance denials, appeals, and rejections for high dollar surgical medical claims, including working with medical billing claims, insurance follow-ups, and resolving claim issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Follow up with insurance companies on claim status, underpayments, and denials
- Resolve denied and underpaid claims promptly
- Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Address and correct coding-related denials
- Use payer portals such as Availity, Cigna, UHC, Navinet, and Emblem
- Work with internal teams to resolve claim issues
- Access EMRs to obtain medical records
- Post insurance payments and handle recoupments
- Generate and send patient statements
- Interpret Workers' Compensation terms where applicable
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Billing
- 2 years experience with Workers Compensation Collections
- Understanding of Workers Compensation rules and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills with insurance representatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- High school diploma or equivalent
